Know your home inventory!

We love our electronics: flat screen TV's, laptops, iPhones, and video games! Just think about the investments you've made in your everyday living! If you lost it all to fire or tornado damage, it would be very difficult to put that list together at such a stressful time. And then, where do you keep the list so that it is accessible, safe, and easy to update?
The Insurance Information Institute has a great online tool, www.knowyourstuff.org, where you can enter the items in your home by room category. You can even upload photos or scanned receipts! You can then sort the items by price, date of purchase, type of item (like dishes, appliances, electronics, etc.) In addition to having access to the information online, you can print reports, save in a file on your computer, email it yourself, or burn a CD.
There are online tutorials on how to use the site that will make keeping an updated home inventory a breeze!
Go online today and start protecting what is important to you. Make sure you also visit with one of our agents and share your inventory to see if you have any special items that need to be added to your policy and if they need an appraisal. www.knowyourstuff.org
